I especially loved the ending! Very meta. 😁

In the last few years, I have become a representative of an organization that promotes “Intentional Christian Grandparenting”. It is called The Legacy Coalition. One encouragement that I was happily intrigued with was the call on grandparents to be the “storytellers of the family.”

I love that! So here’s a follow-up, what stories are you telling and have you seen the fruit of those seeds?

A couple of thoughts went through as I read your question. I came into the things of God off the road as an itinerant hippie. My son, learning of that lifestyle was a “traveller” for about 7 years. (This one is a fail)

At the end of 2019, my daughter moved upstairs in our house with her husband anf two boys, forming a multi-generational household. This was after I spent 6 months. in our basement creating a living space for my wife and me. The closeness of the two grandchildren means I can share my heart with them as we do life together. They are learning my stories slowly with a n eye on the long game. The fruits are subtle but beginning to show in attitudes and behaviours as they find their way in Christ.

So good! My favorite story arcs are redemptive ones. Like The Count of Monte Cristo and A Christmas Carol and the Bible most of all. They glorify God. Yours sounds like a redemption story and hopefully that plants fruit for generations to come!

I like redemption stories too. One of my ministries is to meet men and have coffee with them, talking about whatever comes up. Best… Ministry… ever!
