When I first saw Randy’s post on LinkedIn looking for Christian creatives to share how their faith intersects with their work, I felt a nudge from the Lord to respond. I’m a freelance book editor and designer, and while most people associate creativity with design, it’s also connected to good editing, which is largely artistic as well.
What a treasure-trove of a post! Thanks for this write-up. It was very insightful and a great look into your heart as both a Christian & an editor.
I’m on a bit of a mission at the moment to find and connect with all the Christian writers and editors I can find on Substack, so it was great to come across this.
Would love for you to introduce yourself in the thread below:
Wow! Thank you! I’m so glad you found it insightful. And I love your idea of connecting with Christian writers and editors on Substack. I was actually wondering about that yesterday. I’ll definitely introduce myself.
And congrats on serializing your novel. What a fun way to write. Have you considered pitching Randy about writing a guest article? He’s looking for other contributors. I’d be interested to read your perspective as a writer, especially since you’re serializing your work. (And, kudos for homeschooling. I was homeschooled for most of my K-12 years. I so enjoyed it!)
Also, a bir about myself. I’m Stephen, and I’m currently writing a Christian YA fantasy novel—Underland and the Forehidden Kingdom—that I’ve been serialising on Substack for the last 2 1/2 years (sometimes progress is fast, sometimes it isn’t 🤣). I’m passionate about the intersection between faith and fiction, but when I’m not doing that I work as a graphic designer and help homeschool my 3 kiddies.

Sounds wonderful, I’d definitely be up for that!
It’s always good to hear from those who were homeschooled. Reassures me that we’re doing a good thing 😅
