Top 10 Children's Picture Book Recommendations
Because good reading should start at an early age.
I love books, and I believe a love of reading should be fostered from a very young age. Picture books are a wonderful way to begin the love of reading for our kids. While they are young ages unable to read themselves, they are drawn in by the pictures. This could lead to a fascination of graphic novels, and that’s okay, but what I really want to foster, and tried to with my kids, was a love of reading. They read everything now, especially my daughter. But we read with them on the daily for a long time, and even still will read with them occasionally. So, from 10 down, here are my top ten books!
10. The Polar Express
This is a very difficult book to read but presses the imagination of the child. One of the outcomes we wanted for our kids is to have active imaginations. But the other plus side of this book is that it expands their vocabulary, helping them to understand harder words. It is a great holiday picture book to have on the shelf to read to your kids each year. However, be forewarned, it is quite a long book too.
