Hello Readers and Leader,
It’s been one year since I started this journey of writing, and I wanted to share some milestones with you all! Honestly, they aren’t the highest numbers in the world of Substack or literature, but in the end, that doesn’t matter as much to me. I prefer quality to quantity, and I’ve got the best subscribers in the world.
In the last year, Scribbler has grown from 0 email subscribers to 86! What also started as a newsletter for Fables of Laknohl has morphed into a podcast/YouTube channel called The Reader Club. The YouTube channel has 60 subscribers, and nearly 20 subscribers on other podcasting sites! I honestly did not expect that kind of audience. You all are amazing!
The newsletter also morphed into a full publication called Scribbler, where there are several sections. Scribbler is the main section for mass newsletter and announcements for my books, The Reader Club for young adult and middle grade book reviews, Faith and the Arts for Christian creatives working their faith out in craft, The Story Arc Collective for discussing the storytelling in leadership, and From the Scribbler’s Desk, showcasing my other creative endeavors (poems, short stories, etc). We’ve even had a few guests post in these publications! It’s exciting that people want to jump into these kinds of conversations!
Furthermore, I’ve sold over 150 books between the two books I’ve written! Again, did not expect this. You can see from the graph below, much of the sales happened at the release of each book, which is normal. Working on the PhD took a lot of my resources away from building continued growth each month, but this was still much better than I expected!
All in all, it has been a monumental year, and it is thanks to you all! I’m still planning on putting out content as much as possible, so keep up to date by continuing to follow. Also, the second book of Fables of Laknohl will be dropping this fall. So, if you know people who would be interested, feel free to share this with them.
This is also the only place where I will be recruiting for early readers to get feedback on the second book, so if you’re interested, keep posted, or if you know someone interested and is not subscribed, let them know.
Thanks for all your support, here’s to year two! Leave a comment if you have a book suggestion for The Reader Club, or if you know someone who’d love to volunteer for such a thing, please encourage them to subscribe!
Until next time, have a good read!
So proud of all you do! All while loving your family so well. You really are the best!
