I’m addicted to that falling-in-love feeling

To all those moments you just can’t dream up

Give me the evidence of your love, I’m kneeling

I long to be stuck on you like a pound pup

Rescued from the refuse of abuse to become useful by the way you feel

It’s uncanny how

I’m so attached now

When you reeled me in

And let’s not pretend

That you’re so innocent

With those signals you sent

I’m a goner

No longer wander

Through the wilderness

With the way you kiss

I’m lost in the bliss

Of your innocence

With you, I want to be all-in, addicted again

Don’t shut the door on me now, or shut me out

I love the way you talk when we are skin to skin

I can’t go back, push on through every bout

Every fight is just another opportunity

To let me see the way you’ll be, so perfectly

It’s uncanny how

I’m so attached now

When you reeled me in

It’s still uncanny how you keep me locked in

I’m back at the beginning, I’m also at the end

When the present is before me, I’m stuck in the now

From past to future, you were there, my life laid bare, but not unfair

Because all time is lost on me

When all I see is

The radiant beauty

of your immortality

I know you’re not a goddess

but when you got this

and got it all together

I can’t help to think

You’re so much better

Than every other

And I’m lucky and blessed

To be the one mistake you took

inside this mess of me
